Transmission is Ubuntu's default Bittorrent client lightweight but feature-full with an easy-to-use interface.

Transmission 2.42 has been released, bringing numerous bug fixes, UI improvements, as well as enhanced stability.

What is new in Transmission 2.42?

  • support for GTK+3.2
  • fixed removing&deleting torrents-related bugs
  • minor UI tweaks

How do we install Transmission 2.42?
Add the following official PPA (Natty, Oneiric)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:transmissionbt/ppa

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install transmission
