Mark Shuttleworth about Ubuntu Touch: "4 devices at launch, then carefully chosen launch carrier partners"

Across the latest months, Canonical has been rooted into a double-sided approach: on one hand, solidifying Ubuntu Touch, on the other hand, attracting new and new carriers as interested in and partners for Ubuntu's mobile experience.

Through Ubuntu Carrier Advisory Group, Ubuntu mobile has attracted globally-scaled partners, including Verizon, China Unicom, MTN Group, Smartfren, etc.

Mark Shuttleworth has been recently interviewed by a Mobile World Live team, talking about plans, goals and features of Ubuntu mobile.

Moreover, Mark Shuttleworth revealed a definitely exciting fact, stating that Ubuntu mobile is to meet the IT world with "four devices at launch, then carefully chosen launch carrier partners"; initially, Canonical will select two platforms, "one mid-range" and "one high-end", therefore, Ubuntu Touch is to be represented on serious devices able to house a modern Ubuntu experience.
