Unity WordReference lens utilizes the power of WordReference, a versatile online service specialized in delivering a fast and effective dictionary functionality.

Unity WordReference lens clearly exposes WordReference-based data and structures it into intuitive controls, allowing users to enjoy a fast, accurate and reliable translation experience.

Basically, the WordReference lens comes with a Language filter, opening it exposes numerous supported languages: Turkish, Greek, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, Romanian, Korean, Portuguese, Czech, French, Polish.

A definitely interesting aspect of Unity WordReference lens is its manner of structuring its translation method: clicking on a language from the Language filter, selects the language, in order to translate words from English to the selected language, type an English word in the search area, action that translates the word from English to the clicked language's language.

Translating a word from English to Italian is to be performed by clicking on Language's Italian and typing an English word in the search area, action that translates the English word to Italian words.

The mentioned process is to be repeated when changing the to-be-translated-from-English-language-to-x language.

Typing a word in the search area, displays numerous matched results, furthermore, categorizing the items in clear categories, such as Principal Translations, Additional Translations and Compound Translations, approach allowing the user to immediately identify and distinguish between relevant items.

Essentially, the mentioned categories add ranks to matched results, meaning, Principal Translations is to be perceived (and used) as the most relevant result, followed by Additional Translations, while Compound Translations properly combines the typed word in linguistic constructions, thus enriching the user's vocabulary and usage of a specific word.

Matched results are rendered with relevant details, such as translated word / of-origin word, allowing users to easily grasp the meaning of words directly from the Dash, without the need of opening results via a web-browser.

Clicking on an item, opens it via the default web-browser directly on its WordReference web-page.

Unity WordReference lens has been created with a double-sided approach, on one hand, there is the mentioned from-English-language-to-x-language functionality, on the other hand, the lens translates words from a selected language to English.

Under the Swap Dictionary filter, by clicking on Swap, the lens reverts its translation direction, allowing the user to type a word in an available language, process that translates the word in English.

Clicking on Swap, selecting French and typing in the search area a French word, translates it into English, approach to be followed for other languages, too (most of them supported).
