Banshee 2.0 released with cleaner UI and new features
The successor of Banshee 1.8, Banshee 2.0, the "culmination of six months' work by 36 developers and dozens of translators, bug reporters, and testers", has just been released bringing many new features and a huge number of bug fixes (more that 270 since Banshee 1.8).
What is new in Banshee 2.0?
- artist/album Browser Track Actions -->play, remove, queue, edit, properties and delete work now for the artist and album browser (just right-click on artist/album to perform the above mentioned actions or click on an album and press "q" to queue it)
- UI improvements-->the active source's title bar is now gone , the source list has smaller icons, pod-cast episodes are presented in a grid and have its own descriptions (overall, the visual approach is cleaner, better organized)
- "SoundMenu" and "Ubuntu One Music Store" extensions are now core extensions (have been moved from Banshee Community Extensions)
- "Play After" option allows you to select an album, track, artist to be played after the current playing track, album or artist
How do we install Banshee 2.0?
Although this is a stable release, you can only install Banshee 2.0 (at the moment) via its unstable PPA (soon, probably in a matter of 1,2 days, will be in Natty Narwhall's repos and in its official/stable PPA)
(Karmic, Lucid, Maverick and Natty)
